KUALA LUMPUR – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed has apologised for breaching movement control order standard operating procedures under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan.
He said he leaves it to police to take necessary action.
According to a statement from the minister’s office, Jeli police chief Ahmad Arifin contacted Mustapa at noon after photos of the latter at Alfath Café in Jeli went viral.
The statement said Ahmad told Mustapa that police have opened an investigation paper into the matter.
“He admitted to being served food at Alfath Café in Kg Kalai, Jeli, at 5.30pm on Saturday (yesterday).”
Mustapa visited the cafe after learning that the owner managed to keep his business afloat, despite the implementation of the full lockdown. – Bernama, June 27, 2021
