KUALA LUMPUR – The government has been urged to allow shops selling books, stationery and computers, as well as telecommunications stores, to resume operations even before the National Recovery Plan (NRP) enters Phase 2.
National Student Consultative Council president Muhammad Amir Asyraf Mohd Sabri in a statement today said this is in view of classes being held online during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Both students and teachers need to get materials and devices to facilitate e-learning, he said.
Malaysia is still in Phase 1 of NRP, with the transition into Phase 2 to be done when the daily coronavirus caseload dips below 4,000, intensive care unit bed capacity is at a “moderate” level, and 10% of the population has received both vaccine doses. – Bernama, June 29, 2021
