KUALA LUMPUR – Netizens were unable to hold it in after the Prime Minister’s Office issued a brief statement regarding Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s admission to the hospital due to diarrhoea.

Taking to Twitter, numerous users began to spew various tweets, resulting in #PMCirit and #KerajaanCirit hashtags trending on the social platform.

“IDK (I don’t know) man, a prime minister sending journos a pdf abt their hospitalization from diarrhoea is like, the boomer equivalent of a socmed post, except using the state’s newswire and local news outlets as the digital platform of choice #PMCirit,” netizen @TechieKittie tweeted.

“So the prime minister can postpone a royal meeting because of diarrhoea, but I can’t postpone a Zoom meeting because of it?

“#PMCirit #DoubleStandards,” said @wqarssifi94.

“Dei. My amma made me go to school when I had diarrhoea la. But you senang je masuk hospital,” @SubashSivanesvaran said.

“I have never, and could ever, imagine a head of government, in any country, past, present, and even perhaps future would put out a formal statement, explaining the status of his bowels.

“Today is a very interesting day indeed,” @ibrahimsaninet tweeted.

Another netizen @avataram, pointed out that the chief minister of New Delhi made a similar announcement on Twitter in 2013.

“Running 102 fever since yesterday. Severe loose motions. Sad that I won’t be able to attend office today,” the chief minister had tweeted.

“#PMcirit should change ‘work from home’ to ‘work from toilet’,” @fareezropi tweeted.

Activist cum cartoonist Fahmi Reza also took to Twitter, uploading a novel graphic for a uniquely novel situation.

The Pagoh MP was this morning admitted to a hospital here for diarrhoea.

The Prime Minister’s Office, in a brief statement, said he has been unwell since last night.

“He is being treated and monitored for his condition.”

Following the statement, it is learnt that the weekly cabinet meeting scheduled for today has been postponed. – The Vibes, June 30, 2021
