KUALA LUMPUR – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has expressed his appreciation to the United States for donating one million doses of the Pfizer vaccine in a boost to the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, in a post on Istana Negara’s Facebook page today, said the king also thanked US Ambassador to Malaysia Brian McFeeters for the supply.

“This contribution clearly demonstrates the friendship and good relations that have long been established between the governments and peoples of both countries.

“Hopefully, this contribution will help the country in its fight against Covid-19.”

The Agong also expressed his appreciation to Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein; Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also coordinating minister for the national vaccination drive; and, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba over the cooperation with the US leading to the vaccine donation.

Sultan Abdullah called on the rakyat to pray for the Covid-19 pandemic to be brought under control quickly.
