KUALA LUMPUR – Shops selling computers, telecommunication services, books and stationery are allowed to resume operation tomorrow.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob said this was decided after a National Security Council (NSC) meeting, which took into account feedback from students, teachers and parents.
At the same time, the NSC will no longer prohibit student movement from one area under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) to another EMCO locality for the purpose of taking examinations, including professional papers.
However, to do this, students must obtain police approval before travelling.
Meanwhile, several localities in KL will see their EMCO lifted tomorrow – the Sri Semarak People’s Housing Project (PPR), the Batu Muda PPR, Kg Padang Balang,Taman Koperasi Polis (Fasa 2), Flat Sri Sabah, the Kg Baru Air Panas PPR, the Kerinchi PPR, Bandar Baru Sentul and Taman Ikan Emas.
Similarly, several localities in Sabah will also see their EMCO end tomorrow, including Kg Mangga and Kg Kijang in Tawau, Kg Lingkodon in Kota Belud, Kg Pintas Kubu in Beaufort, Kg Muhibbah in Putata, and Kg Goshen in Kota Marudu.
Pahang will also see the EMCO in Kuala Kuantan 1 end tomorrow, and the EMCO in Kuala Kuantan 2 to end on 17 July.
The NSC has also announced that several localities will have their EMCO be extended until 30 July.
These areas include:
– Kilang Latexx manufacturing Sdn Bhd and Asrama Pekerja Kilang Latexx in Taiping, Perak
– Taman Merah Kelemak in Alor Gajah, Melaka
– Taman Jaya Diri in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Ismail Sabri also announced that the NSC will begin implementing EMCO in several areas beginning on 17 July to 30 July.
For Sabah these are; Kg Perpaduan Gumpa in Kudat, Perumahan Sabah Forest Industry in Sipitang, Penjara Tawau & Kuarters Penjara Taman Ehsan in Tawau.
Meanwhile in Perak, the affected areas are all in Kerian, namely, Apartment Tropicana Bukit Merah, Kg Tersusun Pondok Tanjung and Kg Binjai. – The Vibes, July 15, 2021
