KUALA LUMPUR – The walk-in vaccination facility in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur starting August 1 is not meant for those already with appointments, said the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) today.

In a statement, it said the initiative is targeted at individuals who have “not been accounted for”.

“Examples of people who have not received an appointment are those who do not have identification or travel documents, as stated by National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin on July 16.

“People living in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor who have already registered will be given an appointment soon. As for individuals who have not yet registered and have no problem doing so, they are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.”

It said the vaccination centres (PPVs) catering to walk-ins starting next month will be made known at a later date, adding that existing jab sites will not necessarily offer the facility.

CITF urged those with appointments to show up at PPVs as scheduled.

“In view of the emergence of more aggressive variants and the increasing number of infections, it is important to seek protection through vaccination as soon as possible.” – Bernama, July 19, 2021
