KUALA LUMPUR – Water supply has been restored to 26% of the 463 affected areas by noon after the shutdown of Sg Semenyih water treatment plant yesterday, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

Corporate communications head Elina Baseri in a statement today said Hulu Langat recorded a 61.1% recovery rate while Sepang registered a recovery rate of 43.3%.

Meanwhile, Putrajaya recorded 17.4% whereas the recovery status in Petaling and Kuala Langat are at 0%.

“The water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location and distance of consumers’ premises.

“Water supply in all 463 affected areas is expected to fully recover by 12am on September 3, Friday.”

Elina added that alternative water supply assistance will continue to be mobilised to the affected consumers and critical premises during the unscheduled water supply disruption.

“Air Selangor is seeking the consumers’ cooperation to practice social distancing and wear face masks while collecting the water supply from the water tankers.”

The status of the water supply recovery will be updated from time to time through Air Selangor’s website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Queries and complaints can be directed to its call centre at 15300 or Help Centre via the Air Selangor app. – The Vibes, September 1, 2021
