KUALA LUMPUR – Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Shabudin Yahaya has been appointed Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) chairman.

AIM, in a statement today, said Shabudin replaces the late Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin, who died last month.

“With his experience and leadership, he will be able to helm AIM, which now has 356,024 members, and take it to greater heights.

“Hopefully, this appointment will further enhance AIM’s role and function in efforts to help the government reduce poverty and improve the economic status of low-income households.”

Shabudin, 56, served as a shariah court judge prior to his appointment as Felcra chairman.

He was appointed deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and law) in the previous Perikatan Nasional government. – Bernama, September 11, 2021
