MIRI – Sarawak PKR will contest the next state election using its party logo, with the decision made in an online meeting of its leaders recently.

State PKR information chief Abun Sui Anyit said the decision was reached after the proposal received full backing from both party chiefs and grassroots supporters.

He told The Vibes today that the chapter’s leaders believe using the party logo will draw voters.

“We are going to print flags and banners with the PKR logo. We will, however, tell voters we are part of Pakatan Harapan.

“Their votes for PKR are also for PH. PKR’s logo has long been used in state and national elections. Our logo is well known to everyone already.

“Sarawak PKR is gearing up for the state election, which is expected to be called soon.”

The state assembly automatically expired on June 7. However, a localised emergency is in place in Sarawak until next February due to the Covid-19 pandemic. – The Vibes, September 14, 2021
