MIRI – From tomorrow onwards, Sarawak will ease entry restrictions into the state that today logged the highest daily Covid-19 caseload of 4,709.
The state Disaster Management Committee said fully vaccinated individuals do not need to undergo quarantine in designated centres upon entering the state.
“Those fully vaccinated can enter Sarawak without quarantine. They must apply online, submit proof of vaccination and submit a PCR test with negative result three days before entry, and they can bring children below 18.
“For those without vaccination or only one dose, they will have to observe a 10-day quarantine.”
The approved vaccines are the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac and AstraZeneca jabs, or the single-dose CanSino.
Today, Sarawak saw 4,709 new infections, with Kuching recording 1,866 cases, followed by Samarahan (417), Bintulu (369), Sibu (347), Serian (289), Simunjan (227), Bau (192), Asajaya (129), Miri (117) and Betong (108). Other districts logged fewer than 100 cases each.
The state also recorded 12 more deaths, bringing the toll to 651.
The victims are a Sibu man, 93; a Kapit man, 81; a Bintulu woman, 47; a Saratok woman, 94; a Bintulu woman, 35; two Sri Aman women aged 85 and 86; two Sri Aman men aged 80 and 100; and, two Kuching men aged 57 and 84. – The Vibes, September 15, 2021
