KOTA KINABALU – Children under the age of 12 are now allowed to visit public places, according to a new standard operating procedure (SOP) updated by the National Security Council (NSC) of Sabah today.
The SOP states that children under the age of 12 and individuals aged above 70 are not encouraged to be in business premises or public facilities, except for medical, educational, emergency and exercise purposes.
This indicates that children are allowed to be in public places, as the earlier SOP updated on September 23 stated that children are not allowed to be in business premises or public facilities.
Last week, Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun had announced that spas, beauty salons, reflexology and wellness centres, massage parlours, and nail salons are allowed to operate between 6am to 10pm beginning October 1, given that all operators and customers are fully vaccinated.
Tourism sites such as zoos; plantations; aquariums; edutainment centres; extreme, adventure and jungle parks, etc. are also allowed to operate from October 1.
Cyber cafes and cyber centres are still on Sabah’s no-open list for the economic sector, as well as nightclubs, pubs, and karaoke centres in the entertainment sector.
Theme parks, family entertainment outlets, and mass gatherings for any occasion are still not allowed. – The Vibes, October 4, 2021
