KUALA LUMPUR – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s Pejuang has yet to be registered because its application is incomplete, said the Registrar of Societies (RoS).
In a statement today, it said the party has been informed of the need to ensure its application contains all the necessary information before any consideration for approval is given.
“Pejuang’s pro tem committee is reminded to contact RoS directly to settle any issues pertaining to the application.”
This comes after Pejuang’s establishment committee secretary-general, Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah, yesterday said the party is still waiting to be registered since submitting its application on August 19.
He said Pejuang has, to date, submitted seven applications, none of which has received a response, and that there is no indication an approval will be given anytime soon.
RoS said it has, on a number of occasions, held discussions with the party on what needs doing to get it registered.
“As has been informed to the pro tem committee, the party ought to review in detail its application before submitting documentation, especially its constitution, which is the primary reference for any registered association.”
Until Pejuang is registered under the Societies Act 1966, it will not be allowed to use its logo or symbol, said RoS. – The Vibes, October 30, 2020
