KUALA LUMPUR – An explanation on chicken prices devolved into a shouting match after Khalid Samad (Shah Alam-PH) accused Putrajaya of hypocrisy, interrupting Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi (Kapit-GPS).

Nanta told the Dewan Rakyat today that chicken products, particularly feed, is imported affecting producers and product prices.

“We have to take into account the instability of the economy, weather, and even competition between countries. Now, China particularly has a high demand for corn and soy (used in chicken feed).”

Before Nanta could finish, Khalid shouted that the government has given many excuses on the issue.

Khalid went on to accuse the government of hypocrisy, given that when Pakatan Harapan (PH) was administering the country, the opposition constantly attacked the government.

“When PH was in power. you had many complaints, not many excuses. When you were the opposition, you whacked the PH government non-stop.”

However, Nanta threatened to end his speech if the lawmakers in the house were not interested in his explanation. – The Vibes, November 11, 2021
