MIRI – Members of the public in Sibu who would like to receive their Covid-19 booster shots at night will be able to do so when the mobile vaccination unit makes its rounds onboard a converted express bus, said Dr Annuar Rapaee.
The incumbent state assemblyman for Nangka described the move as an innovative and practical approach to administer Covid-19 booster jabs among the public.
Anuar said he has been liaising with the Sibu Health Department to draw up a night schedule to enable those who are working to be able to take their booster/third dose after work.
“In order to reach out to more people to get them to acquire their booster shots, we have launched the night-time booster-jab programme in Sibu.
“So far, we have covered the housing areas in Taman Selera, Taman Harmony and Taman MUC, in Sibu,” he said on his Facebook page recently.
The mobile team, he said, comprises nurses and medics, utilising a bus belonging to the University College of Technology Sibu, which has been converted into a Covid-19 vaccine dispensing facility.
He urged the public to keep tabs on the mobile rounds from updates via his social media accounts.
Sibu is one of the urban centres in Sarawak badly affected by the Covid-19 crisis over the past two years.
Along with Kuching, Miri and Bintulu, Sibu had suffered multiple deaths and thousands of infections over those months. – The Vibes, November 19, 2021
