MIRI – Sarawak voters are advised to double-check the location of their polling centres before heading out to cast their ballots.
Making this urgent appeal today, Stakan DAP candidate Leslie Ting said his office discovered that as many as 2,000 voters in the constituency had their polling stations moved to other locations but this was not publicised.
“Please double-check where your polling stations are now before polling day.
“Two polling centres in Stakan had their venues changed for this state election (as compared to the last state election).
“At least 2,000 voters are affected (at Taman Samarindah and Jalan Muara Tuang).
“If the voters do not check, they may end up going to the wrong places or miss the chance to vote if there is a rush for time on polling day,” he said in a press statement.
Ting said it will be good for voters to know exactly where they should be heading to so they do not have to rush.
He urged the Election Commission to publicise information about all the updated venues to prevent any rush on polling day.
Voters must adhere to all the necessary SOPs when casting their ballots on December 18, he said. – The Vibes, December 11, 2021
