KUALA LUMPUR – The constant downpour since last night has hit Klang badly, damaging or destroying the properties of the residents there.
According to Klang MP Charles Santiago, rainfall reached 700mm, which is significantly above the 215mm expected rainfall for December.
Klang residents took to Facebook to express their distress, with some even using social media platforms to seek urgent help.

One netizen even shared a video of his wife’s home in Alam Impian, which shows water above ankle level in their living room.

“May Allah ease everything and protect all Klang residents,” @macchiato tweeted, uploading a photo showing flood waters entering porches of houses.
Santiago has been on the run around his constituency in an attempt to provide assistance to his constituents.
The DAP lawmaker has also been posting updates about the flood situation on social media. Netizens have commented on his Facebook posts seeking urgent help.
“For the first time in history, my parents’ house in Teluk Pulai has flooded.
“Water entered through the kitchen and front door. My family is transferring the furniture upstairs as I write here.
“It has never happened before in my whole life staying here. Imagine those living in lower areas, the conditions are much worse,” Facebook user Eileen Ang commented.
