KUALA LUMPUR – Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz today proposed in Budget 2021 that RM25 million is marked for micro franchise development programmes and affordable franchises as well as the buy local products programme.

This is to encourage the production and the purchase of locally made products, he added.

“RM150 million will be allocated for training programmes and sales assistance as well as digital equipment for 100,000 local entrepreneurs to transition to digital services under the SME and micro SME e-dagang campaign.”

He also said RM150 million will be given for the Shop Malaysia online initiative through cooperation with main e-commerce platforms to encourage online expenditure, which will benefit 500,000 local entrepreneurs, including halal product entrepreneurs and handicraft.

“RM35 million is also allocated to promote local products and services in trade and investment missions.” – The Vibes, November 6, 2020
