KUALA LUMPUR – Netizens on Twitter are putting on T-shirts supporting Muda party pushing a social media trend with the hashtag #pakaibajumuda ("wear Muda shirts").
This new trend follows a controversy that saw individuals in Muda T-shirts photographed drinking alcohol, prompting Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman to defend his newly registered party.
However, netizens do not seem to be buying into the controversy and are rocking their Muda wear for all the internet to see.
The hashtag #pakaibajumuda was trending on Twitter 17 hours ago with over 2,000 tweets.
Most tweets with that hashtag show individuals posing with their Muda T-shirts, with some doing so while engaging in volunteer flood relief work.

Muda itself joined in on the fun, posting a parody photograph in response to the aforementioned controversial image that depicted individuals drinking beer while wearing party T-shirts.
In a post yesterday, Muda uploaded an image of a person sitting with his face covered near A&W Root Beer bottles placed on a table.

Meanwhile, another netizen used the hashtag to upload an unboxing video.
@aimifilzah16, who bought her first Muda T-shirt, tweeted: “First time buying a Muda shirt!
“I think this is the first batch (of T-shirts), if I am not mistaken.”

@mimierhmn said that the #pakaibajumuda campaign was successful in countering any negative perceptions caused by the viral photograph.
