KUALA LUMPUR – At least three people are believed to be trapped in the aftermath of a landslide in Taman Bukit Permai, Ampang, following a torrential downpour this evening .
According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, 15 houses were affected with two houses being completely buried under the landslide.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department chief Norazam Khamis told reporters via WhatsApp that officers are currently ascertaining if more victims are buried in the rubble.
“So far, four victims have been identified and one of them, a senior citizen, has been successfully rescued.
“The victim however suffered minor injuries.”

Norazam said rescuers received an emergency call at 5.54pm and deployed officers from the Pandan Fire and Rescue Department who arrived on the scene at 6pm.
In a precaution to residents within the vicinity, Norazam warned that soil movement continues to take place near the site of the incident.
The tragedy has also drawn the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yakoob who expressed sympathy for the victims in a Facebook post.
Just yesterday, eight vehicles were destroyed by falling boulders from a hill in the same Taman Bukit Permai area.
The incident occurred at approximately 4.30am and no casualties were reported. – The Vibes, March 10, 2022
