JOHOR BARU – The Johor government has proposed that the conditional movement control order (CMCO), implemented since Monday, be enforced only in Covid-19 red zones, and not the entire state.
Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad, in a statement, said the recommendation for Putrajaya’s consideration was made at a state security special committee meeting that he chaired yesterday.
“This is very important so that the implementation of the CMCO does not affect the economic sector and daily life in areas with a low number of cases.”
He said the state government will propose to Putrajaya standard operating procedures for a third scheme enabling travel to Singapore.
The Daily Commuting Arrangement (DCA) follows the earlier Reciprocal Green Lane and Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA).
DCA is key to making travel easier for Malaysians who have been in Singapore since national borders were closed eight months ago, said Hasni.
“The meeting (yesterday) also proposed that the quarantine period for returning Malaysians, excluding those under the PCA, be shortened to seven days, to be served at quarantine centres or their homes.” – Bernama, November 11, 2020
