KUALA LUMPUR – There was no speedy shortcut for a driver who was caught on video using the motorcycle lane at the Federal Highway near Wisma CIMB, Jalan Pantai Baharu, yesterday.

The 30-year-old man was arrested after showing up at the Kuala Lumpur traffic police station.

City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the man’s actions were discovered based on a viral video on Facebook where the 30-second clip was uploaded by a user known as Mazli Alias.

“The vehicle seen on the motorcycle lane was a white Honda Civic,” he said in a statement today as reported by The Vibes’ sister portal Getaran.

It was believed that during the incident, traffic was heavy on the Federal Highway.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – The Vibes, March 19, 2022
