KUALA LUMPUR – Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) has launched an immediate investigation following a viral video showing a man in a Prasarana uniform allegedly assaulting a member of the public in a convenience store today.
The public transportation outfit said in a statement today that it takes the incident seriously and that violence against a member of the public is against the company’s ethics and policy.
“We take the allegations that the attacker is a Prasarana staff based on his uniform in the video seriously. The incident was believed to have happened when the victim was caught and accused of stealing food in the convenience store.
“However, the action of the attacker is against Prasarana’s code of work ethics. In any situation, if further assistance is required, it should be referred to the authorities,” said the statement.
The company added that the event depicted in the video that went viral today occurred at an unknown time, date and location.
It also requested members of the public who witnessed the incident or have further information to call 03-7885 2585 or email to [email protected].
“Prasarana also apologises for what happened and guarantees that appropriate action will be taken to ensure that a similar incident will not occur in the future,” said the statement. – The Vibes, March 29, 2022
