KUALA LUMPUR – A one-week toll exemption will be given to land travellers between Malaysia and Singapore from April 1 to 7, announced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The toll exemption comes after an announcement from both countries’ prime ministers, allowing fully vaccinated travellers to cross the land border without undergoing quarantine or Covid-19 screenings upon arrival or departure.
In a statement, Ismail Sabri said that the toll exemption will be applied to both Malaysia-Singapore entry points at the Sultan Iskandar Building and the Second Link Bridge.
“This exemption applies to all vehicles to ease border crossing and allow everyone to top up or update their Touch ‘n Go and Smart Tag devices.
“This is on top of the waiver of RM7 road charge imposed on Singapore-registered vehicles entering Malaysia,” he added.
Following that, PLUS Malaysia Bhd expects at least 42,000 vehicles to enter via these entry points daily – therefore, this exemption will benefit more than 300,000 border crossings for the week.
