KUALA LUMPUR – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have tested positive for Covid-19.

Comptroller of the Royal Household for Istana Negara Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, in a statement today, said that the Agong is currently undergoing self-quarantine that will end on April 7, while Tunku Azizah Aminah will self-isolate until April 8.

“It is informed that both the king and queen are only experiencing mild symptoms. They are generally in good health and not alarming,” Fadil said.

In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, he said the Agong has called on the people to remain vigilant although the country has entered the transition into the endemic phase yesterday.
