KUALA LUMPUR – The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will announce details on access to the Account 1 facility, known as i-Sinar, on Wednesday.

In a statement today, the fund said i-Sinar, which is being fine-tuned, is the outcome of an in-depth consultation with stakeholders, to ensure people are able to see through this difficult economic period.

“EPF is confident that the amount that can be accessed from i-Sinar, together with the maximum withdrawal of RM500 a month from Account 2 under i-Lestari, will enable members to fend for themselves in the short term.”

The i- Sinar facility is an extension of i-Lestari, which has seen an estimated total withdrawal amount of RM30 billion and will end next March.

Applications for i-Sinar can be made starting next month, with the amount to be credited into members’ bank accounts starting January next year. – Bernama, November 14, 2020
