BUTTERWORTH – The Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP) now plans to designate every Wednesday to promote cashless transactions at its service counters in its headquarters in Bandar Perda here.

It is also to reflect the council’s commitment to improve its digital services, said council president Datuk Azhar Arshad.

“This initiative will begin on June 1, where cash payment will not be used on the day itself. Those who visit the MBSP payment counters to perform any of their transactions are advised to use digital apps such as ‘Cyber Counter MBSP’, MBSPPay, Jompay, e-boost and ‘TnG e-wallet,” he told a press conference here.

Earlier, he chaired the MBSP full council meeting here.

Azhar also said the council will install more payment kiosks at the service counters to allow ratepayers more options of either paying online or at the counters or kiosks.

“There will also be a special counter available for those senior citizens and others to perform their payment if they are not well-versed with cashless facilities.”

The services available for cashless payments are business licences renewal, assessment payments, dog licensing, disabled car sticker applications, banner applications, booking for sports complex slots, compounds, and rental assessments. – The Vibes, May 26, 2022
