GEORGE TOWN – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has opened a bid for the sale of its special vehicle registration plate number that begins with “USM” to the public starting today.

In a statement, USM said bidders could start bidding as low as RM250 for a four-digit registration number, depending on the value set in the bidding system.

“Bids can be made by downloading the carplates.my application in the Google Store for Android users and the Apple Store for iPhone users.

“All USM academia and alumni as well as those who are interested are expected to support this effort by bidding for numbers (USM1-USM9999)”.

The statement added that the bidding process will take place starting today until June 29.

“Funds obtained from the sale of this number plate will be channelled to help the university enhance the research work that is being actively carried out”. – The Vibes, June 17, 2022
