KUALA LUMPUR – The Health Ministry is targeting an R naught (R0) value of below 0.5 with the implementation of public health measures against Covid-19.

Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the number of new cases reported yesterday – 1,210 cases – puts the country’s immunity rate at between 1.1 and 0.9.

“(The ministry) is targeting R naught, or infectivity rate, below 0.5 by increasing public health activities to prevent and control infections (Covid-19),” he tweeted today.

R0 indicates how contagious a disease is.
