KUALA LUMPUR – It is rare indeed to find a true friend willing to brave hell and high water for you.

Missing TV3 presenter and personality Zalina Azman seems to have that sort of friend in Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Mohd Radzi, who is heading a search party tirelessly searching high and low in Shah Alam to bring her back home to safety.

“I and a few friends have been looking for Zalina since 9pm last night (July19) until early in the morning.

We’ve been looking for her around Shah Alam based on sources shared by netizens. Among the areas we searched were Seksyen 3, Seksyen 5, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam Municipal Council, and mosques, among others.

“However, we failed to find her. We looked at people walking by. When it’s not her, it’s very disappointing,” said Ras Adiba to The Vibes’ Bahasa Melayu sister portal Getaran.

Even though they faced disappointment the first time around, Ras Adiba has not allowed it to wilt her spirit as she continues searching for her former colleague from their heyday in TV3, whom she fondly calls “Zally”.

She added that she understands some people will find her method of searching for her lost friend “unrealistic”, but it does not deter her at all, as it is better than sitting on her laurels.

“I will try and I hope I will find her,” said the senator, who is also a community activist.

Ras Adiba continued her mission together yesterday, starting around 5.30pm with Getaran’s team and TV3’s 999 crew searching the nooks and crannies of Shah Alam.

She said she did not know what happened to Zalina and why she suddenly disappeared.

“Before this, we respected Zalina’s privacy. She is an extremely private person when it comes to her personal life.

“I hope that society will not quickly lay judgement on her based on the situation and Zalina’s condition. If there is a way to help her, we must do so.

“I also feel terrible because we did not take any action earlier when she was reported missing, until police raised the issue of her disappearance once again.

“I myself was not aware of it until my cousin told me. We used to work at the same company and we definitely know her real name, which is Zalina Shaharah Azman,” said Ras Adiba, adding that the public only recalled her as Zalina Azman under her moniker as a media personality.

The senator requested public assistance to snap photos of Zalina if they bumped into her, saying that it would make their search efforts easier as it will be her most recent and updated photograph.
