KUALA LUMPUR – Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is set to address the Go ESG Asean 2020 Virtual Summit organised by the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia (GCMY) tomorrow.
During the summit, Ban will attempt to solidify the stance that businesses that practise sustainable corporate strategies would most likely recover faster from the ongoing economic crises that have hit on a global scale.
“This will be a unique opportunity for participants to hear first-hand from the man responsible for promoting knowledge about sustainability practices for governments and corporations,” the statement by GCMY read.
The summit will also feature an Asean Business Leadership panel, which comprises CEOs from four top organisations, namely Sarawak Energy group chief executive officer Datuk Sharbini Suhaili, Danone Aqua Indonesia president director Corine Tap, Zalora chief executive officer Gunjan Soni and Thailand Stock Exchange president Dr. Pakorn Peetathawatchai.
The Go ESG Asean 2020 Virtual Summit will be held for two days, tomorrow and Tuesday, and sponsored by Sarawak Energy, Petronas, and Capital Markets Malaysia.
The GCMY is the local network United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), which is a non-binding pact among member states that encourages businesses worldwide to practice sustainable practices. – The Vibes, November 22, 2020
