KUALA LUMPUR – Business hours will be extended to midnight for areas under the conditional movement control order (CMCO) effective immediately, said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today.

In his daily briefing, he said the National Security Council (NSC) will allow businesses such as restaurants, convenience stores, sundry shops and petrol stations to open until midnight after receiving feedback on the current 10pm closing time.

“I have received many complaints from netizens and restaurant associations, especially among the Muslim community that usually leave home after Isyak prayers.

“They (customers) only reach the restaurants at 9pm and it closes at 10pm, so businesses are greatly affected.”

He added that the new ruling is effective immediately.

“It could also begin tomorrow, but the sooner the better.” – The Vibes, November 23, 2020
