KUALA LUMPUR – Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Arman Azha Abu Hanifah has dismissed claims that he owns the RM1.7 million Porsche car recently involved in a crash as mere rumours.
Speaking to The Vibes, the Subang Umno division chief threatened to take legal action against online portals that have made such allegations.
“Those are just speculations (khabar angin). I refuse to comment. I’ll leave it to police to investigate,” he said when contacted.
“Was there documentary proof to show the car belongs to me? And was there proof that I was the person driving the vehicle?
“These are all just hearsays. I can sue them. In fact, I will be sending legal letters to the portals that have alleged me as the owner of the Porsche.”
In a video clip that has made rounds on social media, a blue Porsche 911 GT3 can be seen after it collided with a tree along a major road.
A person of Arman Azha’s likeness could be seen briefly in the video.
The Umno man had also previously in May uploaded a post on Instagram which showed a brief view of a car of a similar model and colour in the background.
Two online portals had previously alleged that the luxury sports car belonged to the senator, and that he was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
Arman Azha, who holds a master’s degree in political science from Geomatika University College, Kuala Lumpur, was previously reported to be the director of Asia Coding Centre Sdn Bhd.
On December 14, 2021, the company was given approval by the Health Ministry to commence a trial run and deployment of Covid-19 screening involving RT-PCR molecular testing at the country’s main international entry points, including at airports.
Another firm, Dataprep Holdings Bhd, had confirmed on December 24 last year that it had been appointed by Asia Coding Centre as the project delivery partner for the outsourcing of integrated solutions for the molecular testing. – The Vibes, September 6, 2022
