KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) Bandar Tun Razak candidate Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail almost lost her chance at contesting when she dropped her national registration identification card by accident on the way to the nomination centre today.

The Vibes’ Bahasa Melayu sister portal Getaran reported that just as she was about to enter the centre’s compound the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Training Institute (IDBKL) at around 8.30am, one of her supporters was seen and heard calling out to her.

The former deputy prime minister hurried to take the critical document before heading back in.

“I guess I dropped it (by accident) on the way in,” she mentioned to reporters after the nominating period was over.

She had arrived at around 7.45am at a food court nearby before marching with a group of PH supporters numbering in the hundreds to IDBKL.

She will be contesting in a three-corner fight against Barisan Nasional’s Chew Yin Keen and incumbent Perikatan Nasional’s Datuk Kamaruddin Jaffar.

In the 14th general election of 2018, Kamaruddin had taken the seat with 41,126 votes under the PH-PKR ticket, defeating challenger Adnan Seman who obtained 21,196 votes and PAS candidate Rosni Adam who had 7,884 votes.

However, Kamaruddin exited PKR during the Sheraton Move and formed the PN administration under ousted prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in 2020. – The Vibes, November 5, 2022
