KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional (BN) heavyweight Titiwangsa parliamentary seat candidate Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani has assured that he will focus on four big issues in the constituency if he secures a win in the upcoming national polls (GE15).

His promise comprises matters relating to key areas in the constituency, including Kg Baru, the Pekeliling flats as well as the Chow Kit and Keramat markets.

He also urged voters to elect a representative who is not only well-versed in concerns faced by the people, but is able to overcome trying situations at a fast pace.

“For now, voters whom I met have a positive vibe towards me, but polling day is only on November 19.

“Voters might back me today, but they could change their minds tomorrow after hearing this and that from other people.

“As such, we must encourage a mindset of choosing an MP who is willing to be with us through thick and thin,” he said when met at his campaign, as quoted by The Vibes’ sister portal Getaran.

He stressed that the people need a stable government that is responsible and carries out pledges it had peddled during the campaign period.

“We do not want to promise to abolish tolls, set gas prices at RM1.50, get rid of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loans and (guarantee) a million job opportunities if we cannot achieve (such vows).

“The people should not be fooled a second time,” he said, believed to be alluding to Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) GE15 manifesto which saw several repeated pledges.

Johari is looking to recapture Titiwangsa, the seat that he won in 2013 before losing it to Bersatu’s Datuk Seri Rina Harun during the 2018 general elections by a majority of 4,139.

He will face PH’s Khalid Abdul Samad, Perikatan Nasional’s Rosni Adam and Pejuang’s Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
