KUALA LUMPUR – The list of deputy ministers that would be named to the cabinet will be finalised soon, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

On Facebook, Anwar also said the first cabinet meeting conducted this morning was held in a “harmonious” and “productive” atmosphere.

In the post, the prime minister also shared a photograph of the entire cabinet line-up, with all members of the unity government showing a different image of themselves by not wearing neckties.

“I wish to stress that all issues related to the people, especially the cost of living, should be given attention and resolved as soon as possible,” he said.

Yesterday, Economic Minister Rafizi Ramli said the deputy ministers will likely be sworn in within a week or two.

Rafizi also said the process would be similar to the appointment of cabinet members, and that the number of deputies to be appointed will be proportionate to the number of MPs a party has within the unity government. – The Vibes, December 7, 2022
