KUALA LUMPUR – A local firm is looking to address rising unemployment brought by the coronavirus pandemic through its new mobile application, offering displaced workers up to RM6,000 a month as security guards.
Security2U Sdn Bhd said its mobile application connects users with security guard professionals.
The mobile application, known as Security2U.co, will be available starting December 12.
Co-founder and chief executive officer Fred Wu said it is the first business-to-business (B2B), consumer-to-business (C2B), business-to-consumer (B2C) and consumer-to-consumer (C2C) security guard e-commerce platform in the world that will provide unbiased and transparent customer reviews and ratings.
This was done via its reward-based, user-generated content, and metasearch system for security related services and products, Wu said.
“Security2U.co is the type of platform that has long been anticipated by the people as it offers numerous one-of-a-kind solutions, mainly to benefit three important groups. They are jobseekers, employers, and users,” Wu told The Vibes recently.
“As for job seekers, whether you are a security guard, bodyguard or even an armed guard, and looking to secure a job, worry no more. You should submit your application today.”
Wu said job seekers can work either on a full-time or part-time job basis, earning as low as RM80 per day, or up to RM6,000 per month “with no strings attached”.
This depends on the profession one chooses, whether it be as a security guard, bodyguard, or armed guard, among others, he added.
He said employers seeking to hire individuals could join the portal to post, search and hire instantly, while individual users who will need a reliable security guard service, can also get connected via the portal to book a professional in the same amount of time.
Wu added those seeking to hire a security guard for personal reasons can do so by making a booking for a minimum of eight hours, while a live search for locations of guards is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Aside from static and armed guards, the service also offers guard dogs. Wu assured that all guards are well-trained, verified and professional in their respective styles.
“All recruited security guard professionals will be assessed, ensuring that all job seekers come with valid work pass, relevant credentials and no criminal records.
“Later, training and development opportunities will be provided for upskilling before Security2u.co begins to perform job matching and job placement in the end.”
This was done via its the company's Radip framework encompassing Recruit, Assess, Develop, Integrate and Placement, a business model which Wu said will be “incredibly sustainable”.
The company is also run by director R. Priyadarshimi, an entrepreneur who was crowned Mrs Malaysia World 2019/2020. A graduate of Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) with a degree in Bachelor of Accountancy, Priyadarshimi aims to provide opportunities for the community.
She is also the Director of MPR Groups Sdn Bhd specialising in human resources, founder of conscious e-store EcoQueen Sdn Bhd, a women’s empowerment garment line, Simmi Shimmero Sdn Bhd, and salon Rose Petal Beauty & Design.
Wu, who has 16 years of experience in consultancy work which includes Felcra Berhad, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), and University Nottingham Malaysia, said the idea to develop the application was born out of frustration with the pandemic.
This made him decide to help solve the issue of unemployment and to support and galvanise the local community.
“It all started with a few questions like ‘Why can’t we have a safer and legal security guard in our community? Can’t we give this working opportunity to the locals? Can’t we make this security career more attractive? What if we could make the entry accessible to all?’,” he said.
“These questions led to a group of incredibly ambitious entrepreneurs to start this company.”
On near-term plans, Wu said the company intends to strengthen ties with the ENF Elite Security Training Academy and Institute of Entrepreneurship and Management Asia to complete training and development of its security services. – The Vibes, December 1, 2020
