KUALA LUMPUR – Transportation firm Mun Fei Enterprise’s licence has been revoked following its involvement in an accident at Gerik, Perak, resulting in the death of an unborn baby.
In a statement today, the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) said that the decision was made following an investigation it conducted with the Road Transport Department.
“APAD’s licensing suspension and revocation committee decided that the operator had failed the inspection and safety audit, and also had a prior record with the Road Transport Department involving public safety.
“(Therefore) the committee decided to revoke Mun Fei Enterprise’s licence effective immediately,” the agency said.
It said that the decision was made in line with the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
The company’s 47-year-old trailer driver was detained by the police on October 29 for his involvement in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred at KM69 of the East-West Highway which stretches between Gerik and Jeli in Kelantan.
This was after the cargo in the trailer that he was driving fell off the vehicle and hit a car in the opposite lane.
The accident also caused a pregnant woman to lose her unborn baby.
The footage of the accident also went viral on Twitter. – The Vibes, December 23, 2022
