KUALA LUMPUR – Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup has been appointed as its new president with immediate effect.
This comes after his father, Tan Sri Joseph Kurup, who is also the party’s founder, relinquished his position during the party’s supreme council meeting in Kota Kinabalu today.
The meeting was chaired by Joseph Kurup himself, during which he thanked all individuals that had contributed to the party since its inception in 1994.
According to the party’s Information chief Datuk Freddie Sua, the PBRS supreme council members unanimously agreed for Arthur to take over the party’s presidency.
“PBRS supreme council has also approved the motion to appoint Joseph Kurup as the party’s honorary chairman effective immediately,” Sua said in a statement.
PBRS was founded by Joseph Kurup, who is also a former cabinet member, in 1994 following a split from Parti Bersatu Sabah. – The Vibes, January 7, 2023
