GEORGE TOWN – Penang will propose to the National Security Council to limit the conditional movement control order (CMCO) to targeted localities instead of the entire state, said Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today.
He said the decision was made during the state security special committee meeting held at the Komtar building this morning.
“The proposal will be brought to NSC tomorrow,” said Chow.
He said currently only Mukim 12 and 13 in the northeast district are red zones, while the rest are orange zones.
Chow added that the state Health Department reported only 14 active clusters in Penang.
“Penang hopes that good results can be implemented to balance aspects of public health and economic recovery brought by the pandemic,” he said.
A total of 60 Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday in Penang. The state now has a total of 2,177 cases. – The Vibes, December 3, 2020
