KUALA LUMPUR – Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has been appointed as the federal CID director, effective April 16.

Ayob is set to replace outgoing CID Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan, who will retire in the same month.

His transfer was announced via a statement signed by police secretary Datuk Noorsiah Saaduddin.

Ayob has served in his current position since January 2022.

Prior to that, Ayob was appointed Johor police chief in March 2020, and had served in the Special Branch Counter-Terrorism Unit before that.
