KUALA LUMPUR – Prepaid mobile phone users will receive free additional internet quota and cash rebates in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, said Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
In a statement, he said the offer involved prepaid users of Maxis, CelcomDigi, Unifi Mobile, U Mobile, and YES.
Depending on the respective service provider, Fahmi added the offer would last for a certain period until May 31 this year.
The array of additional internet quotas and rebates also varied between the telco companies.
For example, Maxis is offering a 100GB bonus with the HotlinkMU internet plan, while CelcomDigi users would be given the RM5 HD 555GB plan to view videos for four days. Both Maxis’ and CelcomDigi’s offers would last until May 15.
Unifi Mobile is offering an RM5 rebate for its 4G and 5G internet plan, as well as RM35 for unlimited 4G and 5G data for 30 days, until May 5.
Meanwhile, U Mobile users will receive a 10GB data bonus with the Unity Package until May 31, and YES users would gain 44GB data for seven days until May 15.
“This initiative was made possible through the strategic cooperation between the Communications and Digital Ministry, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and the telecommunications companies involved.”
“The facilities on offer are subject to the terms of the service providers. Consumers are advised to contact their respected providers for further information.”
Fahmi said the effort by the government and telcos were in line with the nation’s Rahmah concept in reducing the cost of living and upholding the people’s welfare.
