GEORGE TOWN – History was made today when George Town appointed its fourth mayor since its city status was restored in 2015.

Penang-born Datuk A. Rajendran was sworn in before Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and state exco in charge of local government, Jagdeep Singh Deo, this morning at the city hall here.

Rajendran, 60, promised a caring council that will listen to the grouses of ratepayers.

He also spoke about using technology to fight climate change and to meet the expectations of the public here. – The Vibes, March 9, 2023
