LABUAN – The Labuan Financial Services Authority (FSA), the regulatory body for the International Business and Financial Centre of Labuan has experienced a cybersecurity incident, which has been affecting its online systems.

In a statement today, Labuan FSA, an agency under the Finance Ministry (MoF), said it has taken immediate actions to secure the systems against unauthorised access and notified the relevant authorities, while ascertaining the full impact of the incident on its systems.

It has also engaged Mandiant, a leading global cybersecurity expert to work-round-the clock with its information communication technology team and application vendors in conducting a thorough investigation of the security incident.

“As a safety precaution, we have temporarily taken certain operational systems offline to prevent exposure to further risks, while continuing our operations to support our customers with minimal disruptions,” it said, adding that it will continue to provide updates on the situation. – Bernama, May 18, 2023
