KUALA LUMPUR – PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has confirmed that actor and director Datuk Seri Eizlan Yusof has joined the party.

Takiyuddin said while several other notable figures are expected to join PAS, their names will be disclosed at a later time.

“Eizlan is now an official member, and there are many others who will join us,” he said following the Majlis Ceramah Perdana Gelombang Kebangkitan Rakyat event held in Seremban yesterday.

Previously, it was reported that Eizlan refrained from confirming the allegations that he was joining Perikatan Nasional via PAS, urging everyone to await an official announcement.

Takiyuddin said that PAS welcomes approximately 3,500 to 4,000 new members each month.

“Just today (Sunday), we have gained over 3,000 new members, including the group led by Tan Sri Annuar Musa himself, and it is expected that more groups, including at the state level, will join,” he said.

Takiyuddin also expressed PAS’ openness to considering Annuar as a candidate in the upcoming state elections.

“This is something we can contemplate. Let’s see, as Annuar has not set any conditions,” he explained.

“He joined PAS to fight alongside us unconditionally. Therefore, the matter of candidacy will be deliberated, and as a PAS member, he is eligible for nomination and given a role as a PAS candidate,” Takiyuddin added.

He also noted that Annuar, being a political figure in Kelantan, could potentially bring a wave of victory to the PN alliance. – The Vibes, June 11, 2023
