KUALA LUMPUR – Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has dismissed rumours that he would be named as a candidate for next month’s state elections.

The former health director-general was responding to earlier claims on Twitter that he would be vying for an assembly seat in Selangor.

The tweet read “Speculations are rife that an ex-DG of MOH will be contesting in the DUN Selangor?”.

Dr Noor Hisham, who played a crucial role during the Covid-19 pandemic, called it a day after serving as health director-general for 35 years on April 19.

He said he had no plans after retirement and wanted to rest.
