KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia has today recorded more Covid-19 recoveries (1,309) than new infection cases (1,229), but the country has also detected six new clusters and seen four deaths, bringing the total fatalities to 415 cases. 

In a statement, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the bulk of today’s cases still comes from Selangor, with 435 cases.

Sabah has the second-highest number of infections for the day at 333 cases. It is followed by Kuala Lumpur (131 cases), Perak (105), Johor (103), Negri Sembilan (29), Pahang (28), Penang (26), Kedah (13), Terengganu (12), Melaka (7), Labuan (6), and Perlis (1).

The six new clusters are Hujung Pasir (Labuan), Lestari (involving Petaling, Hulu Langat, Klang, and Sepang districts, as well as KL’s Lembah Pantai), Desa Idaman (Kulai), Bina Rimbun construction site (Negri Sembilan), Tanjung Suria (Sepang, Gombak, Kuala Selangor, and Hulu Selangor), and Kuala (Kuantan).

A total of 191 clusters are still active, with 52 of them recording new cases. 

The highest comes from the Tembok (103), Seruling (93), and Rumah Merah (78) clusters

“Four clusters have ended (today), which are Wisma Seberkas in Sarawak; Sauh and Basung in Sabah; and Auto in Selangor. As of now, a total of 225 clusters have ended,” Dr Noor Hisham said. – The Vibes, December 13, 2020
