KUALA NERUS – Jailed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak never issued any directives for his supporters and family members to vote for Perikatan Nasional (PN) this Saturday.

According to Datuk Mohd Nizar Najib, his father’s message is for his supporters and family members to continue being loyal to Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).

He also claimed that his father had some 300,000 supporters.

“He expressed this message when we celebrated his 70th birthday on July 23,” he said when met during a BN campaign event in Kg Tanjung Jaafar here today.

Nizar, who is the Peramu Jaya assemblyman, stressed that Najib had never asked him or other family members to spread the message of voting for PN, and had instead wanted them and his supporters to back all BN and Pakatan Harapan candidates.

“He also gave permission for me, Langkawi Umno division chief Nazifuddin, and Puteri Umno exco member Nooryana Najwa to help campaign for BN and PH candidates during the state elections,” Nizar said. – The Vibes, August 8, 2023
