PETALING JAYA – The parents of a 2-year and 8-month-old toddler is appealing for help to enable their daughter to undergo surgery to correct her rare congenital disorder.

Mahalaksmi Shuresh suffers from a disorder known as Apert Syndrome resulting in abnormal development of her skull and facial bones

Other serious conditions associated with this condition include functional problems involving her brain development, eye functions and breathing disorders.

Her mother Alicia Sandra said her daughter must undergo corrective surgery this month or she could risk losing her eyesight.

In a diagnosis sighted by The Vibes from a reputable hospital here, the total cost of the surgery was RM64,218.

“We have so far managed to raise only RM25,000 by crowdfunding through give.asia and have nowhere else to turn to.

“We are really desperate and could use all the help we can get to save our daughter’s vision,” said Alicia.

Those who want to help Mahalaksmi, can donate to Maybank account number 1140 3007 9138 under the mother’s name (Alicia Sandra). – The Vibes, August 18, 2023
