PETALING JAYA – Datuk Seri Najib Razak today jibed at Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, urging him to stop spouting inflammatory statements and inciting disharmony.

In his latest Facebook post, Najib said Malaysians of all races have been living in harmony, with the recent Merdeka Day celebrations being proof of this.

“The celebrations were proof that racial harmony and unity is still strong.

“We are now looking forward to the Malaysia Day celebrations soon,” he said.

Referring to the 98-year-old as “Atok” (grandpa), Najib said Dr Mahathir, having now embarked on the Johor campaign trail, seems bent on creating discord in the southern state.

“Even at this old age, he still enjoys seeing disunity among the people…fighting with each other.

“He has gone all the way to Johor to harp on 3R (race, religion, and royalty) issues.

“All he is doing from breakfast to lunch and dinner is to cause a split among the people and see them fight each other,” said Najib.

“When he was prime minister, he used to say one thing, only to do something else.

“We live in 1Malaysia and we are 1Malaysia. Bangsa Johor will remain as Bangsa Johor, and it is not going to be easy for ‘Atok’ to convince them with his poison.

“Give it a rest, Atok. Look for something new for your politicking in Johor.”

Najib’s post comes in the wake of Dr Mahathir’s statement that he will not back out of raising 3R issues despite the many reports that have been lodged against him. – The Vibes, September 5, 2023
