KUALA LUMPUR – Amid news of the death of a Top Glove Corp Bhd security guard due to Covid-19 complications, the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) on the company’s workers' housing was lifted today.
The Health Ministry had conducted 5,805 screenings and detected a total of 4,305 Covid-19 infections.
The hostels in Jalan Abadi 1A/KU8, Jalan Abadi 1A/KU8 and Jalan Abadi 10A/KU8 in Meru, Klang, were put under EMCO since November 17.
After 28 days under EMCO, the ministry said it has found a downward trend in positivity rate and that there are no more samples awaiting for results.
Those who tested negative are under home surveillance orders since the EMCO started.
So far, of the 28 factories that were closed, 14 are allowed to reopen after their workers were screened and the work areas sanitised.
